On Wednesday we went back in time to WW2. Everyone looked fantastic in their evacuee outfits; some people had even made gas masks and boxes to carry them in! In the morning we looked at a range of historical sources to find out what it was like to be evacuated and how the children and their families may have felt. After lunch we created our own black out poems about the war – Miss Joyce was really impressed with the final pieces.
This morning we wrote poems about the war and evacuation. We tried to include poetic devices such as similes, metaphors and personification.
On Tuesday some of us went to a tag rugby tournament where they played well and won two games. We have also enjoyed two hockey lessons this week! Forest School sessions for Y6 also started this week which was brilliant.
